Summer In July

Today I want to wear this outfit: a mix of puffy sleeves, bows, stars and a dash of gold doves. Instead I’m wearing something totally different. You never would have guessed, huh? Doh. I actually got my hands on the sandals from Topshop in Barcelona. I’m just afraid to use them here in Norway. I’m scared it’s going to rain out of the blue, and then blue turns gray.

Prep Me Up

Ok, so here I am again. Sick. While my nose is running, my soar throat is avoiding everything that needs me speaking and my body temperature feels like a sauna – the sun is teasing me from my bedroom window. Screw you! On the good side, the sun brings the preppy side of me out style wise. Sometimes preppy is really simple, classy and chic. A bit like the outfit above I would like to wear if I weren’t stuck here in bed.

I know, I already promised those who follows me on Instagram an outfit from weeks back. I also cut my hair short. To be continued in other words.

M-m-metallic

I want a pair of metallic trousers badly. These ones by Etro is perfect. Great for dressing up and down and straight from work to play, during this season’s many events. I’m a fan of popping colors to metallics and the red angora sweater by Malene Birger is no exception. The rest of the items of the outfit is enough said, if you ask me.

Androgynous Feat Ladylike

I’ve got a fling for orange lately. No wonder this dusty orange oversized cardigan by Malene Birger is on my wishlist at the moment. I would style it in an androgynous feat ladylike way. The shirt and loafers are good basics for the androgen wardrobe. The suede trousers are just hot. The scarf is a significant part of a fall outfit and the pattern fit well into this season’s ethnic trend. And last but not least, the bag simply gives the outfit the ladylike and feminine touch.

Sail Away

Sail away with me honey. I put my heart in your hand. Sail away with me honey. Now now now. Sail away with me, what will be will be. I wanna hold you. Now now now.

(David Gray – Sail Away)

Instant love when I met this cute tea dress covered with animated sailboats at my first visit at the new Topshop in Stockholm today. I want to do all sorts of summer activities wearing the dress. Par example, drink ice tea, hang in the park, dance around at outdoor concerts and festivals and sail away with it, preferably with every other item in my styling above.

All I Want For Spring

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

All I want this new and upcoming season is a change of colors in my wardrobe. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Tangramarama Anna clutch has all the essentials I need in a clutch this spring. It’s canvas, military green and leather belted, and I already know the size will fit like a glove under my arm. A must-have to go with the clutch is something bold and orange covered on body parts. This Studio Silk blouse by Zara is orange and plain enough. It goes well with jeans and most likely other funky leg wear too, but first of all a body tan. Orange and pale is seldom delicious. The Stone Cluster Ring by Marc by Marc Jacobs is another gem in the jewelery department my forefinger is longing for. Karen Walker is officially my new favorite when it comes to sunglasses. No surprise the sunglasses in a milky vintage color above are named ‘Number One‘. Acne Gun just arrived in the color wood at work today and I instantly felt an attraction. If plastic is fantastic, then wood is all good!

Hvis ‘plastic is fantastic’, så er ‘wood all good’!

Waiting For The Eagle To Land

Recently I’ve fallen in love with Acne‘s Eagle leather jacket in red. I can’t stop thinking about it and it got me fantasizing about the coming season where the Celsius adds up to plus and the ground has soaked up all the snow and wet. When that time arrives I’m going back to basics – preferably in new jeans by Mardou & Dean, a comfy wool-blend knitted sweater, lace up shoes or any other shoes by Pretty Ballerinas, accessorized with Alexander McQueen metallic leather skull wrap bracelet, accompanied by a simple and clean leather clutch like the above from Yves Saint Laurent and of course with Acne Eagle like a cherry on top of an sundae.

Spring Cravings

Right now I’m craving for a fringe top, boyfriend jeans in washed denim, cat-print platforms by Miu Miu (I have to get a hold of them some how!), hand-painted clutch (future DIY project, I guess), the perfect beige trench coat, and last but not least Robyn’s upcoming album Body Talk featuring funky pop-electro hits like ‘Fembot’, ‘None Of Dem’ and ‘Dancehall Queen’ screaming out of my stereo all spring long.

Spring Fever With Addison #4

I was literally spotting this dotted jumpsuit at Oasis the other day. The fabric, cut and pattern add up to what the perfect playsuit is in my head. Great for lazy spring and summer days, besides matched up with my latest obsession, which is a studded denim vest (totally in love with the one from Levi’s),  it would make a match in heaven for festival days too. Hats are this season’s addiction as a great variation to sunglasses and during the heavy days of sunshine it even protects the hair while looking extra stylish. The Addison wedges in taupe from Topshop aren’t exactly spankin’ brand news since this is my fourth and probably last styling collage with them. Which one is your favorite of the 1, 2, 3 and 4?

Spring Fever With Addison #3

The Topshop Addison wedges fever continues. I know the metallics are getting a bit old and the clouds prints are more 2009 than 2010, but this dark cloudy long t-shirt by DRKSHDW got me excited. Probably the first and last time I’ll ever feel so pleased with dark clouds. At least I teamed the so called passé items with this seasons hottest round shaped shades by Topshop Unique, the never stopping spring trend with floral tights and the popular nail polish shade in a pop of turquoise. Personally the zipper pull earrings remind me of spring 2009, I think I used mine to death and when I literally killed them by loosing them on some dance floor, I had a dream about these ones in silver by Marc by Marc Jacobs. The metallic vest by Fendi is a statement piece of it’s own, a subtle statement in my opinion.

Spring Fever With Addison #2

How freakin awesome isn’t this Midnight silk biker jacket by Christopher Kane? As I continue teaming up the Topshop Addison Taupe Wedges as promised with different styling and I stumbled upon this multicolored jacket in the style of Kane’s signature print which I think works great with the wedges. The sunglasses by Emmanuelle Khan have that perfectly St. Tropez glam factor, the denim trend is difficult to avoid this season and this loose fit short sleeved shirt from Monki looks so comfortable, the high-waist leather shorts are actually black if Proenza Schouler was to decide (since I didn’t find a good photo of the brown ones I had in mind, some editing had to be done), the Yves Saint Laurent charm necklace reminds me that summer will come, along with the sea turquoise colored ring by Isabel Marant and last but not least, the oversized Alexa bag by Murberry is the perfect everyday bag in the classic chestnut color.

Spring Fever With Addison #1

I have a weakness for taupe shoe wear, and these Addison Peep Toe Wedges by Topshop is no exception. So simple and clean with an edge. I love them so much that I’m going to do a styling series of different outfits I’d wear the wedges with for the coming spring. A little inspiration for all of us and a kick-start while we wait for the spring weather to arrive. First out is a romantic style in dusty colors  with peach and gold details. The Fendi bag is my personal new classic favorite bag this season, the gold cuff by Aurélie Biderman is amazing and the sunglasses is already a part of my growing sunglasses-for-every-occasion collection.

Set Sail

AnOther Mag loves the pirate ship earrings by Flotsam & Jetsam and so do I. Totally awesome! Just give me an eye-patch, a bottle of rum and I’m all ready to set sail. I know I’m way ahead dreaming about the sunny season here in cold dirty snow covered Scandinavia, but if I’m going to integrate this seasons denim trend in my summer wardrobe I think I would do it perfectly with this light denim playsuit with puffy shoulders by See by Chloé. Looks so chic and comfortable.  While some resembles red, specifically shoes, with prostitutes, I still some how got a weakness for red shoes. These wedges over at the new Norwegian online shop Motedronningen are firing hot.

Now someone just has to give me summer asap. Thank you in advance!

Stockholm is warmer than Oslo, but it’s still cold and wintry. Luckily I’m mostly stuck at the Uni Library with my home exam. It only gets better from now anyways. Before we can say freeze (a moooment) it’s spring time again and I wouldn’t mind wearing this outfit. Color and satin wide trousers for the win! And a unisex chunky watch, of course.

Need Supply

outfit-14-dec-09

I recently discovered Need Supply Co. The online store sells cool not so commercial brands. Many of the clothes, shoes and accessories are totally  my cup of tea. Not a big deal, but I love it when it happens: when I discover something new that falls into the abyss of Natalie’s taste. It helps satisfy a part of my need to constantly discover something new – either it’s in the genre of music, photography, fashion, food or literature. As my friend Henrik says: “Always be happy, never be satisfied.

I would have been happy and satisfied if I owned the outfit I put together above. Everything is from Need Supply Co., except the coat. It’s from Glitzy (slash I Want To Look Like Chanel).

I adore quirky beautiful things and accidentally found the AnOther Mag which has a section that features beautiful things they love that I happen to love too. This Surveillance Striped T-shirt by Commune is par example awesome and so is the Lego Camera. I would hit this outfit I just put together anytime!

Marchesa & Me

It’s been a lot of fuzz in the media about Blake Lively‘s daring outfit at the premiere of her latest film ‘The Private Lives of Pippa Lee‘ last night. Lively is a big fan of Marchesa and it shows through this outfit taken from the Spring 2010 collection.  The blazer is one perfect white fitted embroidered piece. If Blake ever gets tired of the blazer and feels like giving it to me (yeah right!) I’d personally style it in a different direction. More cool-chic glamour, I guess. Black waxed skinny jeans, studded heels and simple but cool accessories. No offence, Georgina Chapman, but such a beautiful blazer should be styled and worn in a million ways.
