He holds me in his big arms
Drunk and I am seeing stars
This is all I think of

Watching all our friends fall
In and out of Old Paul’s
This is my idea of fun

Lana Del Rey – Video Games

Photo: Unknown source

Lana Del Rey’s voice is quite soothing and great therapy during these busy pre-christmas days. I also love her addiction with floral accessories. I wouldn’t mind having her hair either. The color is gorgeous!

Hove Day 1

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Trying to work the casual style with hoodie on the first day of Hovefestivalen above. Day 3 has already arrived and we have barely seen the sun since then. Despite rain, today is probably the best day of the week line-up wise. Seeing Robyn for the second time in my life. It’s going to be awe to the some! Disco disco disco!

Disco disco disco!

Back at Arendal again. Same location, same place, same festival. So far enjoying the weather and chilling out with fine wine and cool people. Tonight is the first festival day. Looking mostly forward to Carte Blanche dj’ing in the big pink tent. See ya!

I dag starter første offisielle festivaldagen. Sees!

It’s a casual Wednesday. Time to go out dancing a bit. Luckily Adrian Lux is turning tables at Berns tonight. See you there!

Det er onsdag, på tide å gå ut å danse litt. Heldigvis for meg spiller Adrian Lux plater på Berns i kveld. Vi sees!

Indestructible

Monday, November 1st, 2010

I’m going backwards through time at the speed of light
I’m yours, you’re mine
Two satellites
Not alone
No, we’re not alone

A freeze-frame of your eye in the strobelight
Sweat dripping down from your brow
Hold tight
Don’t let go
Don’t you let me go

And I never was smart with love
I let the bad ones in and the good ones go
But I’m gonna love you like I’ve never been hurt before
I’m gonna love you like I’m indestructible
Your love is ultimate
Not again it’s taking over
This is hardcore
And I’m indestructible

Hands up in the air like we don’t care
We’re shooting deep into space
And the lasers split the dark
Cut right through the dark

It’s just us we ignore the crowd dancing
Fall to the floor
Beats in my heart
Put your hands on my heart

And I never was smart with love
I let the bad ones in and the good ones go
But I’m gonna love you like I’ve never been hurt before
I’m gonna love you like I’m indestructible
Your love is ultimate
Not again it’s taking over
This is hardcore

It would be bold of me to claim the latest single of Robyn titled ‘Indestructible’, which arrives on the upcoming, third and last album of hers this year Body Talk, as a top favorite over this summer’s hit ‘Dancing On My Own’ in different remix shapes and not to mention fall’s sing-a-long ‘Hang With Me (Acoustic Version)’. But if Robyn is giving me a hit for every season, ‘Indestructible’ is more than welcome to be mine for the winter. It’s awesome, the video is awesome, and yes, Robyn looks awesome in her costume made of tubes with liquid flowing through them while changing color like a mood ring.

Hurts

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

My favorite album so far this fall is definitely the debut of the synthpop duo Hurts titled Happiness. I missed their concert in London last weekend and I’m missing out on them again in Stockholm this weekend. FML. I hope they will be touring in Oslo soon. Hint hint!

Personal favorites are…

Hurts – Wonderful Life (Arthur Baker Remix Kitsuné Edit)

Hurts – Silver Lining

Hurts – Blood, Tears & Gold

Hurts – Stay

Last Days of Summer

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Photos: Private

Spent Sunday afternoon recovering from last night’s fun adventures by boating in Oslofjorden with my new found remix love: ‘Robyn – Dancing On My Own (Fred Falke Edit)’ on the speakers, snacks and great company. We watched the sunset go down before the trip went to Kristina, who celebrated her birthday last night, and I filled my stomach with so much chocolate cake it could handle. Sort of felt like we ended summer today, I’m going to miss the summer fun when fall kicks in and not being able to just throw on a pair of denim shorts, random casual t-shirt, sandals and yet feel comfy-chic.

Crystalised

Since Tuesday I’ve attended a tiny bit of Oslo Fashion Week and spontaneously ended up out two days in a row. I’m taking a break from my trashy party life full of alcohol consumption and other adventures in September, so it’s all in the last days of August now. Wednesday went down with the Venti Uno after-party with the awesome Official Nikki Beach artists on drums and violins. Last night I had a sudden urge to dance to Todd Terje all night long in a blue knitted dress and my crystalised blazer. Speaking of crystalised, I’m chillin’ with ‘The XX – Crystalised‘ a few more minutes before I’m off to work for an afternoon shift.

Music Is My Boyfriend

A casual white shirt is probably the most adaptable clothing item ever. I’ve worn my oversized linen one to the point that it needs a wash after this weekend. Worn it with jeans and cardigan at work, tucked in and teamed up with wedges out on the town last night and loose and comfy hanging out in the park today. When the shirt smells rosé wine and is partly covered in grass stains – I know I had a good weekend. Aaand I’m finally reunited with my headphones necklaces. Randomly found both the silver and gold one in my underwear drawer. Say what?! Perfect timing, because I just discovered the house, dub, bedroom-pop duo Teengirl Fantasy, and it’s literally music to my ears. ‘Teengirl Fantasy – Cheaters‘ par example is six-and-a-half minutes of hotness.

Oslo Live 2010

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Photos: Private & Charlott

Before I went on a little spontaneous get away yesterday I had my two days dose of Oslo Live on Thursday and Friday. A-Trak was fun! Then I hang out with the Crystal Castles boys between the shows (ok, they just wanted to take a picture with me. True story!) and then I ended Thursday night with Scissors Sisters and some more dancing out. Friday was dusky rain, pouring rain and my Swedish heroes Kent on the stage performing the songs I hold so dear.

P.S. Summer equals extra doses of socializing and fun, so I hope you don’t mind the increase of my personal life posts lately. All the fashion related will come in time.

Dancing On My Own

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Photos: Private

I’m just gonna dance all night. I’m all messed up, I’m so out of line. Stilettos and broken bottles. I’m spinning around in circles. I keep dancin’ on my own.

Very last minute and improvised outfit from Saturday night out. I started out with the vertical stockings in navy and the rest just went with it. Layered my red tube dress with a white bow short sleeved blouse and topped with navy blazer with gold buttons.

To be honest, the photos above are from the morning after. No directly walk of shame here. Believe it or not. Ingri, Fredrik and I ended up at a corner right by their neighborhood recruiting strangers passing by to our spontaneously after-party at a random spot outside which lasted from 4 am to 7 am. The best thing about the whole concept was that lots of people joined during those hours and we met a few priceless people. All in all an epic night.

Now I’m going to stop talking about the weekend and dance to ‘Robyn – Dancing On My Own‘ until I get tired of the song. Wont happen, actually!

Horse Power

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Photos: Private

Earlier this week the weather was something that resembled sunny and I wore something like this. All happy to have my YSL Muse bag back in business. Today it’s raining again. Shocker. Luckily (oh, the irony), I’m spending 8 hours of my day inside at work running like a trotting horse on a treadmill, before I’m finally taking the weekend off. Louis La Roche is in town and playing at Sukkerbiten tonight. Excited much? You bet!

Speaking of horses and Roche, I’m addicted to his latest remix: ‘The Chemical Brothers – Horse Power (Louis La Roche Remix)‘. Horse power, horse power, horse power, powah powah powah!

Baby Baby Baby Oooh

Say hello to my new boyfriend a.k.a Asian Balloon. His body is missing, in return his head shape is very much hot. I forced the whole birthday party to dance to ‘Justin Bieber – Baby‘ with mixed success so we initiated limbo instead and later ended up at the floor doing the row row row your boat dance, but that’s another censored story. On top of blue lollipops that made my tongue so blue that only Asian Balloon wanted to make out with me, I ate the coolest cake ever.

Even though the jeweleries I got in yesterday’s goodie bag aren’t typical me, I thought I’d give the earrings from the Jade Jagger for INDISKA collection a try. I bet they will look good with a plain white t-shirt, denim shorts and sandals for the summer festivals. For now they will have to work with a denim shirt.

Now I’m going to bounce off to work with Aeroplane – We Can’t Fly on my ear. Can’t wait until the album comes out in September! Woopiwoop!

Spring Cravings

Right now I’m craving for a fringe top, boyfriend jeans in washed denim, cat-print platforms by Miu Miu (I have to get a hold of them some how!), hand-painted clutch (future DIY project, I guess), the perfect beige trench coat, and last but not least Robyn’s upcoming album Body Talk featuring funky pop-electro hits like ‘Fembot’, ‘None Of Dem’ and ‘Dancehall Queen’ screaming out of my stereo all spring long.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Photo: Private (duh!)

Off to see the electro-rock band Does It Offend You, Yeah? in concert any hour soon. Going for drinks soon and sort of in a hurry as usual, so here’s a sneak preview of tonight’s outfit shot in old school outfit photo style, and mirror obviously needs a clean. Happy Easter!

Thursday Spoiled

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Today I’ve spoiled myself with…

..new elegant earrings. Perfect for the hair pulled in a bun or something sleek.

..cool bag shaped as a box. Great for the festival summer activities.

..colorful accessories for the spring and summer. The extra details are always the cherry on top.

I also got something else you have to wait and see, in addition to boring expenses like course literature and tickets home to Norway for the Easter.  Horray! Now I’m going to continue Thursday aka spoiling day with sushi and maybe I will stop by Hells Kitchen for the Calvin Klein model competition (hallo, hot guys!) and Booka Shade in concert at Debaser Medis. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Silver Rocket

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Photos (collage): oyemodern.com

Darkcloud Silver is limited edition hand crafted silver jewellery for DJs, music connoisseurs and the people who love them. Designed by Sydney based artist Nathan Thomas. Set yourself apart from other vinyl junkies.

I’m definitely one of those who love them! Spotted these awesome jeweleries through my dearest Charlott and we all know they are totally my cup of coffee with a dash of milk. I already have three different cheapo headphones necklaces, a pair of vinyl earrings (that no longer really are earrings because I used them for an art project) and wish I could afford one of these cool rings or vinyl pendants from this Darkcloud Silver DJ jewelery collection. I would have been one happy girl spinning that record!

Speaking of records, I’m looking forward to the release of the album Goldfrapp – Head First next week. Currently addicted to two of the tunes on the album: “Rocket” and “Dreaming“.  Comfortable pop with that lovely 80’s sound! If you find the songs too pop, hook up with Goldfrapp – Rocket (Grum Remix) or my all time favorite remix of Goldfrapp tunes “A&E (Gui Boretto Remix)“. Gives me chills every damn time when the vocals and take-off begin!
