Wardrobe Pt. 1

When fall arrived it was time to stock away the thin summer fabrics and replace it with knitted cardigans and other soft wool hugging items. I decided to fill one of my clothing racks with cardigans, blazers and such. This is one out of three racks as a part of my improvised wardrobe system. One of the items hanging on the rack is my new and beloved second hand cardigan scoop. You might catch it in a future post. It was probably my last cardigan/blazer buy in a while. No more free space on this rack!

P.S. Unfortunately, my Canon G11 camera went kapoof this weekend. Crappy digital camera photos have to do until I hopefully get it fixed.

The Selby

Recently got acquainted with The Selby through Kanye West‘s new art and culture blog. The Selby is a project driven by Tom Selby, a photographer and illustrator, who offers an inside view of creative individuals and their personal space from Paris to Tokyo to Los Angeles to Milan and so on. As the stalker I am, I’m always curious about how and where people live and work, so this is very enjoyable flickering through all the photos of the different spaces including a short interview with each person. I’m also intrigued by the photos of tiny details stating the individuals favorite items or personality. Think I have to buy Selby’s book, The Selby is In Your Place, which will be released in May. Here’s a few of my favorites, a shocker that they’re all situated in New York.

H&M News

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Everyone must have got the news about the next designer for H&M by now. Sonia Rykiel got the the honor and I’m looking forward to it. I’m expecting a lot of funky and playful items! I’m still waiting and hoping for Marc Jacobs for H&M, but while I’m crossing my fingers I can watch him as a reality star on the coming reality show on MTV billed Gay Housewives of New York City .

But before Sonia Rykiel – Jimmy Choo is doing it for H&M this fall. I’ve never been a big fan of his designs to be honest, but I really like the shoes he designed for H&M. They’re out in stores in November.

Although I was too tired after last night to do anything this morning, I dragged myself downtown to run some errands and I finally had a look at the new H&M in Stockholm City, which first opened last week. The new store includes the first H&M Home Showroom. Now the interiors can be shopped outside the net or catalog. The showroom uses a different shopping concept though. You first get a board of metal and then you collect your desired items by selecting magnets from the wall and putting it on the board. No need for shopping carts!
