Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012

The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 campaign is one of my favorites of all times. It’s all sugarcoated and filled to the top with this seasons hottest colors. The fabolous photos are shot by Steven Meisel of course, and the clothes are presented to me as a candy store. I want it all! Maybe not all the bags, but yes, I want the chic-romantic dresses, the scalloped details, the cute blouses and the pastel jackets. And oh, the pointy shoes!

Victoria by Victoria

For some reason I always end up fancying the sister lines more than the main lines of most designers. VICTORIA by Victoria Beckham Spring 2012 Collection is one of the girliest collections this season. It’s filled with flirty dresses in poppy red, jade, candy pink, whimsical details and cute patterns. I love the brocade in pastel, the scallop patterns, the quirky cats inspired by the cartoon character Emily Strange, and of course the popping colors – including the one in all ivory.

Marimekko Store Opening

Photo: Private (@ Patriksson PR)

Missed out on the Marimekko Store opening in Hegdehaugsveien today due to work and school work. A girl gotta do what a girl gotta do. Spent my evening interviewing a bunch of people instead for my article. Fun enough. Got a sneak peak of next season´s Marimekko collection last week anyways. Not that it will stop me from visiting the new store at another opportunity. I walked by the shop before the opening a few days ago, and it looked so bright with all the glass surrounding the shop. It also looked like a happy place filled with colors and cool prints.

Moro for journalistspiren.

Last week I visited the sweet girls over at Patriksson PR. Got a close up look of upcoming spring and summer fashion. Malene Birger and I have always had a special chemistry since her first debut. The Spring 2012 Collection has a wonderful color palette. The gold metallic trousers, the green plastic belt and the clear necklace are my favorites.

Sophisticated Youth

One of my favorite collections from the Fashion Weeks so far is 3.1 Phillip Lim. He never disappoints me and that’s why my fashion-ego loves him. The Spring 2012 collection is inspired by something as youthful as a kite. Works for me. Just look at the cuttings and loose edges, the playful but sophisticated touch, and in addition the clothing and styling is perfectly minimalistic. And as style.com said it: The models are ready to hit the street, and that was the point.

Inspirasjonen funker fint for meg.

H&M Conscious Collection

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Photos: Private

On every Thursday H&M releases something new. Today was the H&M Conscious Collection. The items are made by recycled materials and the color (or might we say non-existent) palette is spot on for the summery weather that is going on in Scandinavia nowadays. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for my wallet, most of my favorite items from the collection were already gone when I arrived the H&M stores in Stockholm City after my exam this morning. After visiting the third store I found one item which joined me home. A perfect dress for the Sensation White party in Oslo this weekend. Saturday will show!

Helgen vil vise dere hvilken kjole!

Band of Outsiders

Monday, November 8th, 2010

Photos: style.com

My new found preppy inspiration and designer brand is Band of Outsiders. Even though I have moments where I go a bit schizo-chic style wise and experiment other departments, I always have the tendency to return to the preppy core with my own new preppy twist. Probably the reason why I fell for Scott Sternberg (the designer behind the collections) and his way of tweaking preppy American classics. My longing for fall/winter inspiration just got satisfied.

Min siste og nyoppdaget kilde for inspirasjon under stilkategorien preppy dukket opp hos merket Band of Outsiders.

Burberry Prorsum SS2011

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Source: BURBERRY SS11 Backstage from V Magazine on Vimeo.

I’ve felt partly lost style wise lately. After reordering my room and wardrobe solutions I’ve figured I want to throw out most of my clothes and start from scratch. Probably wont happen anytime soon, but I’m getting rid of a lot now in the near future and by spring time I wouldn’t mind replacing it with the Burberry Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Gosh! Christopher Bailey can dress me up anytime because I wouldn’t mind being a Burberry girl!

I love the unexpected but adaptable and wearable pieces throughout the collection. The reinvented trench coats and biker jackets always get me going – most of all I like the confident touch the clothes reflect with that raw edge. Yes yes yes!

Filippa K Grand Opening

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Photos: Private

Went to the Filippa K Grand Opening of the official flagship store at Øvre Slottsgate 11 in Oslo last night. The store was filled with people that I didn’t manage to come home with any photos of decent quality. I often find the events less interesting (don’t get me wrong, always nice to mingle with the fashionable people and to see and be seen though, cos that’s how we roll in this superficial world ;)), and the clothes the most interesting parts. The Fall/Winter collection 2010 is very my glass of champagne. Simple, sensual and sophisticated with the subtle play between contrasts  as noted from the lookbook.

Marc by Marc Jacobs SS2011

Photos: style.com

Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011 collection is fun and playful as it always is. Nothing quite outside the box, just the right amount quirky-chic as I like it. I’m a fan of the hats and bags along with the splash of colors in the collection. And oh, the stripes. You did notice the stripes, right? ;)

Speaking of Marcy Marc (no, not the one and only Mark Wahlberg, duh!), Marc by Marc Jacobs is opening their first independent store in Sweden – located in Stockholm next week. I’m bummed out because I’m missing out on the grand opening, but I can’t wait to visit it next time I’m over the border again. Woop!

Stella McCartney Resort 2011

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Photos: style.com

From the view of this blog lately it sounds like the only designer I like at the moment is Stella McCartney. Not really far from the truth, because her latest Resort 2011 Collection is worth a whole lot of love and praise. It’s perfectly optimistic and pre-springy just like the designer herself describes her love for the early spring period in Nicole Phelps review at style.com. Not only do McCartney and I share the same love for early spring, I would like to think that we share some what the same taste in fashion. Because my heart and I really fell in love with this collection and how it’s so sleek and feminine at the same time, with the touch of power on top of it. The suits in different colors and the floral prints which reminds me of my biology classes are my favorites – and we all know clean lines and shapes are a weakness of mine. Pretty damn purrrfect!

If I was to dress in one designer this spring I would definitely be the much blogged about Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2010 woman. No doubt. I’m doing my own inspiration take on one of the outfits above today. Can you guess which one? Now I’m off for dinner just down the street. Smell you later!

Jade Jagger for Indiska

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Photos: Private

Today has been a full day with everything, mostly fun. Stopped by the launch of the collaboration of Jade Jagger for INDISKA during the afternoon and walked into a showroom filled with summer and relaxed atmosphere. Even the Jade Martinis with champagne shots on the side and the finger food were screaming refreshingly Ibizia summer spirit. The collection which consists of clothes, jeweleries and interior pieces is very bohemian chic like Jade Jagger’s own style and INDISKA’s concept.

I’m not sure about the clothes fit into my personal wardrobe yet, but I really like the pieces of the furnishing collection. The whole collection will be out in stores on May 12. In my opinion some collaborations nowadays are either a hit or miss, this will most likely be a hit, since both parts make up to a complete and true design collaboration. What do you think? You like?

Showroom Day

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Today between work out this morning and work later in the afternoon, I went to Patriksson Communcations, Spalt PR and Gambit H&K showrooms to see the fall/winter collections up close. A pleasant and fun day with some beautiful, some interesting, some ok items to touch and look at, yummy food and drinks, nice people and even some sunshine.

Favorites of the day:

Carin Wester shoes and accessories. I could live with the clothes in my wardrobe too. So many cravings!

Veronica B. Vallenes patterns, cuts, fabrics and pieces were more my cup of tea than expected. I’m awful at catching up on Norwegian design, but this was fabulous simplicity!

This awesome hat by Filippa K has the perfect contrast and shape.

Geeky-cool glasses by Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent.

Maria posing with some übercool Marc Jacobs shades in red pattern.

The girls at Spalt PR blowing bubbles bubbles bubbles.

Customized Moet & Chandon champagne with tiny surprises to go with inside the gold orbs.

Eva looking fantastic as always in a jungle inspired color palette.

Spotted this remarkable quilted Chanel backpack on a stylish person who Maria recently blogged about.

Shoes and accessories for guys by Gant I wouldn’t mind dressing my boyfriend in.

Versace Atelier Spring 2010

While the Versace Spring 2010 items are arriving over at Net-a-Porter tomorrow, I’m more crazy about the Versace Atelier Spring 2010 dresses. Kasia Struss looks like a warrior princess gone glam in Swarowski crystal, feather and chain-embellished dresses. Every single dress is totally red carpet material, aimed on the women with decadent taste of course. Stunning!

Karla Spetic

Wow, I just found a new favorite Australian designer. Where have you been all my life? The Karla Spetic Autumn Winter 2010 Collection is perfectly my taste. I love the color palette (the mix of pastels with unexpected colors), the cuttings of the outerwear and mini-dresses, the pinching and twisting (a bit like Burberry Prorsum SS2010), the knitted skirts, the bow head band, the color blocked cardigans, the draping and of course the illustrated prints. All in all the cleanness. Love x 100. The collection gives me a feeling of floating on cloud. Very dreamy indeed.

Alexander McQueen AW2010

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Photos: style.com

By browsing through the final collection of Alexander McQueen it feels like visiting a museum. Every piece and every detail is so hauntingly beautiful. There is something peaceful over his last creations and the styling matches very well. The last gown is just…what can I say? Simply McQueen. According to vogue.co.uk all the patterns in this collection were cut on the stand by Lee McQueen himself. I hope he has found eternal peace where he is now.
