Music Is My Boyfriend

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

Photos: Private

A casual white shirt is probably the most adaptable clothing item ever. I’ve worn my oversized linen one to the point that it needs a wash after this weekend. Worn it with jeans and cardigan at work, tucked in and teamed up with wedges out on the town last night and loose and comfy hanging out in the park today. When the shirt smells rosé wine and is partly covered in grass stains – I know I had a good weekend. Aaand I’m finally reunited with my headphones necklaces. Randomly found both the silver and gold one in my underwear drawer. Say what?! Perfect timing, because I just discovered the house, dub, bedroom-pop duo Teengirl Fantasy, and it’s literally music to my ears. ‘Teengirl Fantasy – Cheaters‘ par example is six-and-a-half minutes of hotness.

Animals

Trendy Scandinavians shouldn’t be unfamiliar with Norwegian glass and jewelery designer Camilla Prytz – or actually any fashionista shouldn’t be at all. Her jeweleries have been spotted on tons of celebrities, especially her latest sterling silver collection titled Animals. My favorites are by far the seahorse and the horse. What does that say about me?

SEAHORSE: CONFIDENCE, GRACE, MASCULINE ENERGY, MALE GIVES BIRTH

HORSE: STAMINA, MOBILITY, POWER, ENDURANCE, FRIENDSHIP

Not sure if I can relate to all of it, especially the male parts, but strange enough, the Tiger, which is my Chinese astrology sign, doesn’t appeal to me the same way.

Frr frr! Jeg hører sjøhesten rope på meg!

Toga Up

Attended a toga party in Moss (outside Oslo) on Saturday. Tips:  Never bring suede wedges when the party scene is set nearby the seashore and surrounded by wet grass, mud and what not. The togas were by the end more covered in red wine and dirt than white. I guess the trip over to the after-party on the sailboat didn’t help much on the soaked part. Now my cold is worse and I woke up last night with a fever, but it was worth it. I’m usually not a big fan of too much gold accessories but when it’s toga time – all gold is allowed.

Iconic Arty

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Photo: weheartit.com & fashiontoast.com

It was one of those days when it’s a minute away from snowing and there’s this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. And this bag was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. And that’s the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and… this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video’s a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember… and I need to remember… Sometimes there’s so much beauty in the world I feel like I can’t take it, like my heart’s going to cave in. (American Beauty)

Yup, Ricky Fitts is right in one of my favorite films ever. I just forget how good and how many brilliant quotes there are from American Beauty. Sometimes there’s so much beauty in the world I feel like I can’t take it, these rings by YSL is one of those materialistic beauties. Too beautiful. Geez! I think I might have to give myself the Iconic Arty Oval ring in emerald blue. Or what do you say?

Piece Of Hat

My mom came home yesterday with a hat as a gift to me which she picked up at a second hand/vintage market. I like.

Oui

Oui or yes, ja, si, aiwa, if you like! While Samantha in Sex And The City 2 should avoid the word in Arabic when the girls are in Abu Dhabi, I wouldn’t mind screaming oui in French all the time everywhere – at least if I had this lovely bracelet around my wrist. Such a simple and great message said with three letters.  Oui, I like you very much 0.25 carat diamond pavé “oui” set into 18k white gold with a delicate band bracelet by Dior. Oui, please follow me home and into my jewelery box.

When You Say Bangs I Say Why Not

Is it just me or is this blog getting a taaad narcissistic? Hah. Tired of my face yet? Anyways, I went to the hair stylist today to originally cut of the edges and he wanted to try something new he nicely called cute bangs. Right now I’m trying to get used to having hair in my eyes now and then, but the effect is suppose to be natural and wind tolerant. Summer will show. And yup, I simply had to shop new sunglasses to go with the new hair cut. Well, actually it was sunny outside and I forgot mine at home.

F12

In the chaos of reading, packing, moving and everything, I sort of spontaneously ended up out with the Stockholm girls last night at F12 Terrassen. If Sundays are the new Saturdays, then Mondays are the new Sundays here. Fun fun fun! A random guy took my arm and gave me kudos for my Hermès Clic-Clac bracelet. Stuff like that only happens here in Stockholm where all the boys are either indie kids or Chuck Bass replicas. Not that I’m saying it’s a bad thing, because I’m lovin’ their style and they obviously do their fashion homework keeping up on the accessory front.

Speaking of accessories, I just wanted to tell you that I love my new earrings. Reminds me of Monies Jewelery which is awesome. Not recommended for heavy dance moves and head banging though, the ear flips easily get carried away.

Driftin’ Away Like A Feather In Air

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Photo: Private

I know feathers are a bit passé like maxi dresses and Miley Cyrus, but I really liked the colors of these feather earrings, so they got home with me all the way from H&M last week. Kind of forgot I had them in the mist of everything lately and found the bag today when I cleaned my room and went woop woop. The coral color is perfect for the summer tanned skin.

P.S. The post’s title is taken from ‘Nujabes – Feathers‘, yo.

Butterflies And Hurricanes

Woop woop in tha hood! Against all odds I’m still alive and happy as a clam. The lousy updates are due to some busy days that I hear is quite normal amongst people with lives. Honestly, I have barely been sober since Friday to this morning (so Norwegian) thanks to birthdays, spontaneous fun, cake party at my place consisting of home made cupcakes with frosting and sprinkles, buns and mint chip ice cream chocolate cake, Footfood and the National Day of Norway starting with the traditional champagne breakfast and keeping it going from morning to dawn. Photos above are from Sunday – the rest totally happened!

I’m On A Boat

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Photos: Private

Last night was the yearly theme birthday party of the May trio. The theme this year was hats/headgear. Ingri and I made our own by plastic boats and headbands and matched with maritime inspired outfits. The only thing we were missing was The Lonely Island – I’m On A Boat as an entrance song. Great success and lots of fun. After all break dancing and laughing so loud that the neighbors threatened to call the police were parts of the night. Mind the poses and pouts, I’m probably singing to Justin Bieber – Baby as usually after too many drinks.

Accessorize

On top of Tusenfryd (amusement park) and my daily hang out today – I ended up accessories shopping. Came home with a new light linen scarf, butterfly hairpins and pearl earrings. I might show you how I will use the items tomorrow. Now I just have to catch up on school work and I’m so ready for a few busy May days.

Hound’s Tooth Check

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Photos: Private

Recently had to say goodbye to my favorite houndstooth patterned tights above when they suddenly had an unwillingly french opening. Got them in a goodie bag in February and they have been frequently used to plain outfits since then. Tights rarely last forever unless you just keep them out of use and in your drawer. Tights and stockings are probably on top on my list of consumption – after food and alcohol of course. Had ambitions to skip drinking and partying this weekend, but then I went to a three course dinner with wine yesterday and the party mood was suddenly very fine. Shit happens. Fun happens! ;)

Tights Craze

I’m loving these pattern tights by Monki. A bit out there and out of the ordinary. Work great with a shirt dress, basics or a tunica.

Even though the jeweleries I got in yesterday’s goodie bag aren’t typical me, I thought I’d give the earrings from the Jade Jagger for INDISKA collection a try. I bet they will look good with a plain white t-shirt, denim shorts and sandals for the summer festivals. For now they will have to work with a denim shirt.

Now I’m going to bounce off to work with Aeroplane – We Can’t Fly on my ear. Can’t wait until the album comes out in September! Woopiwoop!

Showroom Day

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Today between work out this morning and work later in the afternoon, I went to Patriksson Communcations, Spalt PR and Gambit H&K showrooms to see the fall/winter collections up close. A pleasant and fun day with some beautiful, some interesting, some ok items to touch and look at, yummy food and drinks, nice people and even some sunshine.

Favorites of the day:

Carin Wester shoes and accessories. I could live with the clothes in my wardrobe too. So many cravings!

Veronica B. Vallenes patterns, cuts, fabrics and pieces were more my cup of tea than expected. I’m awful at catching up on Norwegian design, but this was fabulous simplicity!

This awesome hat by Filippa K has the perfect contrast and shape.

Geeky-cool glasses by Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent.

Maria posing with some übercool Marc Jacobs shades in red pattern.

The girls at Spalt PR blowing bubbles bubbles bubbles.

Customized Moet & Chandon champagne with tiny surprises to go with inside the gold orbs.

Eva looking fantastic as always in a jungle inspired color palette.

Spotted this remarkable quilted Chanel backpack on a stylish person who Maria recently blogged about.

Shoes and accessories for guys by Gant I wouldn’t mind dressing my boyfriend in.
