Baby Pink

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Photos: Private

My newest nail polish is in the color of baby pink. Pastel, girly, simple and cute. This is actually my first experience with H&M nail polishes, but it goes  well along with my bathroom rug from H&M Home.

“Speaking of” home, the last days have been hectic with moving, school and everything, so mind my boring blog. On the other hand I hope you’re busy with Easter activities to don’t give a damn! Things might change when I have time to settle down and breathe when I arrive Oslo and home tomorrow afternoon. Just came from a lovely tapas dinner and drinks at Mamas & Papas to celebrate Jesssica‘s birthday today. The others went on for more drinks, I had to go home to pack up the rest of my stuff and clean the apartment before it’s adios tomorrow morning. Partypooper is looking forward to Oslooo!

Piece Of Chaos

Welcome to my clothing chaos! I’m moving my things from my apartment today at the same time I’m trying to pack for two more nights at an empty apartment, plus for the home trip to Oslo on Thursday. Desperately I’m trying to make the numbers sum up in this big chaos. During this moving process I realized I actually have a enough of everything. This is just a part of my wardrobe since there’s actually more at home in Norway and this part doesn’t have any problem filling up my living room at the moment. Like these headbands, I think I’ve used one of them since I moved to Stockholm. Hallo, space occupiers! I don’t think I need to go shopping for years now. At least I’ll try to resist.

Marc Jacobs Mixtape

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Photos: marcjacobs.com

Obviously I just discovered, thanks to Nylon Magazine, that there’s a section on Marc Jacobs‘ website marked “special items” offering different stuff in the style of the Marc Jacobs house – everything from surfboards to wallets to USB hubs.

There is always something old school and charming about mixtapes or maybe the memory of your boyfriend making one to you is cute enough. Some of my friends still remember my Christmas cassette which I spray painted in silver and wore around my neck as a hipster-ish necklace. Probably one of the items I’ve ever wore that has got most attention in social contexts. Strangers wanted to play my cassette, others used it as an excuse to bring me to an after-party where music was needed. Haha, yeah right.

Either way, my personal relationship to mixtapes is obviously a good one. No surprise that I, along with Nylon, fell instantly and hard for the USB hub shaped as a mixtape by Marc Jacobs and it’s only available at Marc by Marc Jacobs boutiques. Each tape cassette is decorated with doodles and letters. Pretty cute!

Last Night

Last night started at a housewarming party at Klara’s and ended at Debaser Medis. The DJs at Medis seldom disappoint. Thank you for a fun night, girls and boys!

Lady In Red

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Photos: Vanessa Jackman (posted at tFS)

Today I got credz by the Swedes for wearing and having more color in my wardrobe. Apparently, that’s nothing compared to this bold outfit of Miroslava Duma. She looks so fierce in all red from top to toe with simple black accessories. Some people just got it. I would probably look like a construction worker or a russ all over again.

Another Day

..another transparent blouse – combined with my new favorite trousers. I think I might just move into them. So comfy, yet so chic. It’s me and every other girl in town wearing these trousers, but who cares when the fit is great.

Today has consisted of presentation at school about our marketing paper about Dr. Martens, followed by a pit stop home, before it was out to the beauty saloon to get my permanent eyelash curling fixed thanks to my gift certificate. On my way to the tube a streetstyle photographer asked to take a photo of me, which I approved, wearing no make-up or nothing. All natural and horrifying. So I guess I can check off appearing in public and in a style magazine without make-up from my to do list. Jeyhey! Now I’m back home and soon getting ready for a few of the girls to come over tonight. Woop!

Thursday Spoiled

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Today I’ve spoiled myself with…

..new elegant earrings. Perfect for the hair pulled in a bun or something sleek.

..cool bag shaped as a box. Great for the festival summer activities.

..colorful accessories for the spring and summer. The extra details are always the cherry on top.

I also got something else you have to wait and see, in addition to boring expenses like course literature and tickets home to Norway for the Easter.  Horray! Now I’m going to continue Thursday aka spoiling day with sushi and maybe I will stop by Hells Kitchen for the Calvin Klein model competition (hallo, hot guys!) and Booka Shade in concert at Debaser Medis. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Cigarettes Necklace

I don’t think I would want to wear old cigarettes around my neck, maybe around my friends who are trying to quit smoking, just because I can be mean like that. Hoho. Luckily for all of us it’s not an option at the moment since Francis UpritchardOld Necklace‘ is a piece of artwork and not intended as an accessory. It’s from a gallery installation in 2006 where the concept was the world of art as seen from the perspective of an alien visitor. Still pretty cool! I adore contemporary art like that.

Versace Atelier Spring 2010

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

While the Versace Spring 2010 items are arriving over at Net-a-Porter tomorrow, I’m more crazy about the Versace Atelier Spring 2010 dresses. Kasia Struss looks like a warrior princess gone glam in Swarowski crystal, feather and chain-embellished dresses. Every single dress is totally red carpet material, aimed on the women with decadent taste of course. Stunning!

Karla Spetic

Wow, I just found a new favorite Australian designer. Where have you been all my life? The Karla Spetic Autumn Winter 2010 Collection is perfectly my taste. I love the color palette (the mix of pastels with unexpected colors), the cuttings of the outerwear and mini-dresses, the pinching and twisting (a bit like Burberry Prorsum SS2010), the knitted skirts, the bow head band, the color blocked cardigans, the draping and of course the illustrated prints. All in all the cleanness. Love x 100. The collection gives me a feeling of floating on cloud. Very dreamy indeed.

Hermès Tree

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Photos: Private

Today after the lecture at Uni, Hanna and I ran around the city doing research for our marketing essay about Dr. Martens. We got most of the targeting done, now I have to catch up with the course literature and continue on the positioning, for those who are familiar with the terms.

Anyhow, if you’re not familiar with marketing terms you should be familiar with the Hermès group. On our way I passed NK here in Stockholm and this fantastic show window. We all know ribbons are a weakness of mine. I wouldn’t mind growing a tree with Hermès scarves folded as ribbons in my garden with sets of orange boxes underneath. Some of the best things in life actually come in orange boxes. No kidding!

Dazed

Yesterdays outfit to a birthday party. Don’t mind the poses, I was in a hurry curry when I came home late and felt I had to serve you with my outfit. Haha. Such a blog geek! All the things I do for you. ;) The colorful skirt is new and cost less than my lunch!

Spring Fever With Addison #3

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Photos (collage): net-a-porter.com, topshop.com, polyvore.com & hm.com

The Topshop Addison wedges fever continues. I know the metallics are getting a bit old and the clouds prints are more 2009 than 2010, but this dark cloudy long t-shirt by DRKSHDW got me excited. Probably the first and last time I’ll ever feel so pleased with dark clouds. At least I teamed the so called passé items with this seasons hottest round shaped shades by Topshop Unique, the never stopping spring trend with floral tights and the popular nail polish shade in a pop of turquoise. Personally the zipper pull earrings remind me of spring 2009, I think I used mine to death and when I literally killed them by loosing them on some dance floor, I had a dream about these ones in silver by Marc by Marc Jacobs. The metallic vest by Fendi is a statement piece of it’s own, a subtle statement in my opinion.

Make Me Up

After school today I was a model for Cecilia. Didn’t quite recognize myself after she did my make-up. Even got one of Sweden’s best make-up artists to groom and trim my eyebrows to perfection and we all agreed that the eyebrows do a lot to a face. It was a total transformation. Definitely so much fun getting styled by professional make-up artists. Now I just want to go bananas at the Make Up Store.

Silver Rocket

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Photos (collage): oyemodern.com

Darkcloud Silver is limited edition hand crafted silver jewellery for DJs, music connoisseurs and the people who love them. Designed by Sydney based artist Nathan Thomas. Set yourself apart from other vinyl junkies.

I’m definitely one of those who love them! Spotted these awesome jeweleries through my dearest Charlott and we all know they are totally my cup of coffee with a dash of milk. I already have three different cheapo headphones necklaces, a pair of vinyl earrings (that no longer really are earrings because I used them for an art project) and wish I could afford one of these cool rings or vinyl pendants from this Darkcloud Silver DJ jewelery collection. I would have been one happy girl spinning that record!

Speaking of records, I’m looking forward to the release of the album Goldfrapp – Head First next week. Currently addicted to two of the tunes on the album: “Rocket” and “Dreaming“.  Comfortable pop with that lovely 80′s sound! If you find the songs too pop, hook up with Goldfrapp – Rocket (Grum Remix) or my all time favorite remix of Goldfrapp tunes “A&E (Gui Boretto Remix)“. Gives me chills every damn time when the vocals and take-off begin!

Something New

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Photos: Private

Something old, something new. Something borrowed, something blue. Neither of these two shirts are old or borrowed, but they are new, one of them is blue and both from H&M Divided. If I was to follow the traditional myth, it’s lucky I’m not getting married yet. I’m just feeding my addiction to transparent fabrics. These synthetic fabrics tend to cling to the skin and go all static at times. A tip is to spray a cloth with hairspray and rub it on the fabrics for anti-clinging. Ironically, I went looking for a black transparent shirt or blouse, and when I finally found one that wasn’t sold out, I ended up with a white and a blue. A sure sign that the sun and hopefully soon coming spring is rubbing me the right way. I’m ready to jump in the ocean with these shirts this summer! Transparent clothes look perfectly sexy soaked, if you ask me. Straight from sea is the new out of bed look.

Fashion Literature

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Fashion is the literature of woman, each outfit her individual style. (Baron Octave Uzanne)

I was reading through my course literature yesterday for the big exam today, amongst other in Fashion Theory: The Journal of Dress, Body and Culture (Volume 8, Number 1, March 2004 to be exact), which is edited by Valerie Steele and is highly recommended even for those of you who doesn’t give a damn about my course literature, and found this remarkable quote be Uzanne.

On my part there’s literally been a lot of French and Italian fashion, a bunch of literature and not much sleep the past few days. I always start out each course being ambitious and as always I end up being stressed as ever the days before the exam. Now I’m finally done and tired and spent the day drinking coffee and shopping with the girls to keep myself awake. Now I’m home with the March issue of Vogue US and something new in a plastic bag. I might show you later! Now I’m going to put away my course literature (until the new course tomorrow) and enjoy my Diet Coke and the power issue of Vogue. I’m especially looking forward to dig into the pages featuring front row bloggers who also happen to be a few of my favorite bloggers, like Bryanboy, Facehunter, Hanneli, Garance Doré, Tommy Ton and The Selby. Check out this clip on Youtube for a little web extra for those of you who haven’t found the March issue yet.

Life Is Short

Oslo is treating me very well. It’s almost like I don’t get what I’m doing in Stockholm when I’m home nowadays, but I know when I’m back in Stockholm tomorrow morning I’ll fall in love with the coolest city in Scandinavia all over again.

The internet at home has been absent the last few days, so have my head and mind. I might have left them on the dance floor or in the sambucca shots out on Saturday night. Exam on Wednesday and thousands other things to fix when I get back in Sweden, so I’m enjoying the smell of coffee and cigarettes in the morning as long as I still can. Only coffee for me (for the record) and who thought I’d enjoy the smell of cigarettes? All the things love does to you. My head will be back with you on the blogsphere before you know it!
